93392. ORVIS. 2007 HANDMADE SPECIAL EDITION TROUT NET. 23". BY SAM LACINA. This impressive net is Net #15 of 30 of a Special Limited Edition of collectible nets made for Orvis by Net maker Sam Lacina in 2007. In all of my years of seeing the finest in workmanship in trout nets, this net has to rank at or near the top

when regarded as among the finest made. Simple design and strong attention to detail is the hallmark of this craftsman's work . If you appreciate fine craftsmanship, you will not be disappointed in the net. Hand crafted of Birdseye Maple and Walnut for the utmost in appearance and delicacy with built-in strength. The four-ply laminated Birdseye Maple hoop is only 13" long and is very strong. The vest attachment is a shaped piece of Brass inset into the rear of the handle which is formed of Elk Antler. The Walnut handle core is inlaid with two Diamond shaped antler chips on either side of the net and the throat is inset with a Dry Fly Scrimshaw on Elk Antler. Even the net bag is a cut above and is hand knotted of a soft nylon that is very gentle on fish. The weave is very particular and boasts a diminishable weave size as the bag progresses to the bottom. Simple beauty, excellent craft, pride of ownership and a lifetime of use and/or magnificent display can be expected from this net. Unused. As New. M . $450.00.

93427. T&T HANDMADE IMPREGNATED TROUT NET. 20". TROUT MODEL. In the early 1970's, T&T began producing these unique, One-of-a-Kind design, handmade, Impregnated finish, trout nets in two sizes. This is the largest net made at 20" overall. The hoop is an elongated teardrop shape unique to T&T and is only 6.75" wide. Hand crafted of Oak and straight grained Walnut for the utmost in delicacy with built-in strength. The triple laminated hoop is only 13.75" long and is very strong. The snap attachment is a flat all-Brass eyelet inset into the rear of the handle and pinned with Brass rod for permanence. These earliest nets were identified with the "Thomas & Thomas" name lettered in script in the throat of the net. At times instead, some were stamped on the brass eye with the "T&T" logo in a tiny circle. And the third method of identification was to brand the inter-twined "T&T" logo into the Walnut of the handle. This is one of the middle ones with the T&T Circle Logo stamped into the brass. Although these nets were hand made and sold for nearly 15 years, as with most high quality products, they were never made in any significant quantity, so they very seldom turn up for sale. These nets are very scarce and very collectible. This one does not appear to have been used and is ready for a lifetime of fishing use. M. $395.00

93337. ANTIQUE HARRIMAN FOLDING NET. This unmarked, handmade net is about 100 years old, based on the age of high quality equipment it was found with. The bag is waxed Linen and still sound, not rotted out. The arms are of Spring Steel, which fold flat for storage and spring out for use and are locked in place by fittings that thread into a Nickel appointed handle shaft ferrule. The 24" handle is made of un-split bamboo. All very elegant, and of the best quality. , in deteriorated, but whole condition. Comes in the original cloth outer sack. Victorian Era angling accessories are not often seen today. F. 25.00.

Each book holds a single page of Celluloid sheet to which are attached stainless coils springs and nickel clips meant to securely hold over 2 dozen snelled wet flies for trout or salmon. There are felt page covers to keep the gut leaders soaked for immediate use. There is also a side pocket for leaders and tackle built into the cover.
