This impressive net is Net #15 of 30 of a Special Limited Edition of collectible nets made for Orvis by Net maker Sam Lacina in 2007. In all of my years of seeing the finest in workmanship in trout nets, this net has to rank at or near the top
when regarded as among the finest made. Simple design and strong attention to detail is the hallmark of this craftsman's work . If you appreciate fine craftsmanship, you will not be disappointed in the net. Hand crafted of Birdseye Maple and Walnut for the utmost in appearance and delicacy with built-in strength. The four-ply laminated Birdseye Maple hoop is only 13" long and is very strong. The vest attachment is a shaped piece of Brass inset into the rear of the handle which is formed of Elk Antler. The Walnut handle core is inlaid with two Diamond shaped antler chips on either side of the net and the throat is inset with a Dry Fly
Scrimshaw on Elk Antler. Even the net bag is a cut above and is hand knotted of a soft nylon that is very gentle on fish. The weave is very particular and boasts a diminishable weave size as the bag progresses to the bottom.
