13655. DICKERSON - LYLE L. 7'0". MODEL 7012.
2/2. #4/5. 2.6
oz. Medium/ Fast. Cork N/S S/L. Golden Bronze t/ Black. Varnished.
Incredibly scarce and desirable model of the ultra rare Dickerson rods.
Considered by many to be his finest actioned rod, and the taper most often
copied by contemporary makers. This rod casts a DT4 line with flawless
perfection. The rod has a very unique provenance. The cork grip and reel
seat and ferrules were assembled by Jim Schaaf on blanks made entirely by
Lyle Dickerson and were made using the the Dickerson equipment. These blanks
were made in a very unusual (for the model) configuration. The semi-finished
set of blanks were delivered by Schaaf to Pickard in 2008 when John bought
the rod shop. The rod was finished out and sold by John then. The rod is in
as new, unused condition since the refinish several years ago by John
Pickard, the current owner of the Dickerson rod shop equipment. The rod was
never lettered with a date of manufacture. It is accompanied by a letter of
authenticity from Jim Schaaf dated 2009. The finish work is perfectly done
and the rod is Lyle L. Dickerson aesthetics (and body) in every respect
remains unused since the final work. Rare investment opportunity. In a new
cloth bag and brass capped rod case. Jim's provenance letter reads in part,
"This 7' 2pc. 2.6 oz bamboo fly rod with two full tips, built with a
hollow fluted butt section, is part of...completed blanks sent to me by
Glenn Dickerson Years ago after Jerry Stein and I published the Dickerson
book. These blanks were made by Glenn's father Lyle L. Dickerson, but the
rods were never completed."..."Both 7011 Hollow and 7012 Hollow rods are
mentioned in the Dickerson Ledger. No Completed 7' Hollow rods and no other
7' Hollow blanks have ever turned up."

13635. DUCK - DOUGLAS J. 7'0". MODEL 187. No. 2101.
2/2. #3. 3.0 oz.
Medium/Slow. Birdseye Maple/Cork N/S S/B. Medium Brown t/Gold. Varnished.
Douglas Duck was a noted high quality Texas rod maker who passed away
several years ago. This rod is marked "D.J. Duck Maker - 187, 7' - 3, No.
2101" on the rod shaft. Doug's Garrison replicas are truly top-notch rods
with much of the charisma found in the originals. They have become quite
collectible, but just don't cost as much. and are a lot more amenable to
being fished on a regular basis, than are the "too valuable to fish" rods
they so beautifully emulate. This rod is a dead-on facsimile in action to
the original. A beautifully finished rod with a light Maple reel seat,
oxidized Nickel Silver cap & ring hardware, and Super-Z style ferrules and
staggered node construction. Doug's excellent wrap, finish and detail work
highlight and compliment the Dark Cognac color of the bamboo. This
delightful handful boasts a deep working action with fine tips, (as did the
original) for a DT3 line. Comes with cloth bag, original hang tag and brass
cap aluminum case. Appears unused.

13250. EDEN CANE. 7'0".
SPECIAL MODEL 704-2.
2/2. #4. 2.8 oz.
Medium/Fast. Kurly Koa U&D/L N/S S/B. Clear Tan t/Brown. Varnished. NODELESS
CONSTRUCTION. All the weak bamboo nodes are removed in every Eden Cane rod.
With these weak spots joint scarfed out of the blank and replaced by an
additional 18% solid bamboo power fiber, the results are nothing short of
amazing! Since rods made without nodes are inherently faster and stronger
than their conventional counterparts, taper designs were evolved to take
full advantage of this lighter blank-to-line
size ratio. The results of all this labor intensive effort have become
legend. Eden Cane rods simply outperform conventionally built rods, period!
This first of the 2010 rods is of dark Cognac color bamboo with translucent
Clear Tan t/Brown wraps and full Premium Grade Cork in the grip offset by
two decorative strips of bamboo inlaid into the grip, a SPECIAL EC trademark
feature. The reel seat is of Kurly Koa and has the unique design feature of
a slide band arrangement that
allows you to mount the reel in either an up or down-locking position to
fine tune the in-hand balance of the rod. The signature wrap is a unique
single thread spiral wrap, done to call attention to the unique single
thread wrap tippings in the center of each guide wrap! The observer cannot
help notice the attention to detail lavished on every Eden Cane rod. The
wraps and varnish sparkle and are about perfect. The overall aesthetic of
this rod is masterful understatement. The stripper is Agatine with Snake
Brand
snake guides. The N/S Super-Z style ferrules are oxidized as is the N/S seat
hardware which features another exclusive Eden cane original trademark
feature, namely the Up AND Down locking Cap & Ring seat that carries the EC
logo engraved in the Butt cap. This unique seat design allows for the reel
placement position to be changed to suit your casting style. The swelled
butt is offset at the grip by an oxidized N/S nose check which brackets the
magnificent Premium Grade cork Standard Cigar grip, embellished by two
distinctive
inlaid bamboo strips and finished off at the rear with a matching ring of
the Kurly Koa reel seat wood., unique to this Special Model rod. Details
abound everywhere, and include "mirror image" tips that are dot-marked 1 &
2. The taper of this rod is designed to produce an accurate, pleasant and
delicate casting action equally suited to wet or dry fly applications. It is
built to place a DT4 or TT4 line wherever you want it, with no effort
on
your part. It does that, easily, yet somehow it retains the ability to
present the fly softly and with grace, and protect ultra fine tippets, a
lovely combination. Provided
in a cloth rod bag and a first quality true Brass-appointed Black Aluminum
rod case carrying the Freestone, (EC's parent Co.) label. Eden Cane rods remain the epitome of the bamboo rod art, perform beyond expectations and
consistently re-enforce the adage that "quality never disappoints".

butt, of course, is gently swelled and carries Bernard's hand-inked,
illegible signature under the perfect varnish. Details abound everywhere,
and include the single thread edgings at the guides and signature wraps. The
Model Y210 rod taper is based on a proprietary set of tapers designed
expressly for the small stream fishing requirements demanded in Japan for
Yamame and on Brook Trout filled Headwater streams everywhere. It boasts an
accurate, pleasant and deliberate action equally suited to small wet or dry
fly applications. It is designed to place a Wulff TT3 wherever you want it,
with no effort on your part. It does that, easily, yet somehow it retains
the ability to present the fly softly and with grace, either in-close (10
ft.) or far-off (50 ft.), a lovely and difficult to achieve combination.
Provided in a cloth bag and a Freestone logo-ed Brass capper aluminum rod
case. Investment grade artistry, old world craftsman-ship in a modern
performance marvel. With the limited production of Eden Cane rods now

2/2. #4. 4.1 oz. Fast.
SPALDED MAPLE Grip and U/L & D/L N/S S/B. Clear w/Center Tagged Cinnamon.
Varnished. Bernard Ramanauskas of Eden Cane began his business by building
node-less rods exclusively. With the weak-spot nodes removed in every Eden
Cane rod it was quickly discovered that rods made without nodes are
inherently slightly faster than their conventional counterparts, taper
designs have evolved that take advantage of this lighter blank-to-line size
ratio. The results of this labor intensive effort have become legend. This
rod embodies the final evolution of tapers to produce what has been called
"mystical" in performance as a dry fly rod. For a Custom Order last year
Bernard produced a unique, one-of-a-kind rod, that combines every salient
feature of their unique designs, and is embellished with touches
traditionally reserved exclusively for Presentation Grade rods. This
incredibly beautiful rod features an ALL WOOD grip and reel seat made using
a rare piece of Spalted, Birdseye, Tiger Striped and Feathered Crotch Maple

single piece of Nature Formed Maple wood which is additionally blessed with
a color tone unlike any other Maple Wood you've ever seen. This rod will
take your breath away as you realize this is the only Eden Cane rod like
this existing on the planet. It is hand- lettered with Bernard's illegible
signature This rod is of Medium Flamed color bamboo with translucent Clear
wraps treated to single-turn decorative tags magnificently done in the
CENTER of each wrap. The reddish toned Maple in the grip and seat
compliments the bamboo handsomely since the overall aesthetic of this rod is
one of sparkling, yet subtle harmony, blended with rich touches throughout.
The stripper is Red Agate with black Snake Brand snakes. The N/S Super-Z
style ferrules are oxidized as is the N/S seat hardware which features the
Eden cane Signature Slide Band seat that locks either Up or Down to allow a
change in balance point of the rod. The butt, of course, is dramatically
swelled and the entire rod is perfectly varnished. Details abound
everywhere, and include single thread edgings at the guides and signature
wraps, and "mirror" tips. It is designed to place a TT4 line wherever you
want it, with no effort on your part. It does that, easily, yet somehow it
retains the ability to present the fly softly and with grace, a lovely
combination. Provided in an Eden Cane cloth partition bag with stiffener,,
housed in a fitted, black aluminum rod case with solid brass fittings.
Investment grade artistry and old world craftsmanship. With the limited

13149. EDWARDS - E.W. & SONS. 7'11". Edwards Special.
2/2. #5/6. 4.25 oz. Fast. Walnut. S/L. Brown. Varnished. This E.W. Edwards & Sons rod was made Circa 1935-40 in Connecticut. It is
a classic example of the very desirable, "Golden Years", quality-built Edwards rods and remains in clean, basically original condition. The inscription "Edwards Special" is written in script on the shaft in White ink. All the guides including the red agate stripper and the silk wraps are in fine condition and are original. The original varnish remains, but has been given a recent overcoat to freshen it up.
Just the stripper wrap and the two male ferrule wraps are redone, as well. One tip has had a short section scarf
repaired in at the tip to extend it to original full length, action and taper.
The tip-tops are new replacements. The cloth bag and the aluminum rod case are
both original. The "Special" part of this rod is the fact that it was custom built,
in equal sections,
an inch less than 8 feet with a perfect dry fly action for a DT5/WF6 line. The action of this rod is
quick and quite smooth, just lovely with the fine dry fly tips. It is delicate enough to protect fine tippets
which gives the rod more universal capabilities. Edward's medium cane color is extraordinarily handsome and nicely complimented by the medium brown color wraps. An unusual Edwards in sound, ready to fish, condition. E. $975.00.

by Norm Thompson. Original cloth bag and aluminum case. This rod was made

13636. HARDY. 7'6". MARVEL. 3/2. #3/4. 2-3/4 oz. Medium/Slow. Cork C/R.
Mustard. Varnished. The legendary 7'6" Hardy Marvel has won many devout fans
since it introduction in 1925. It is one of Hardy's most respected trout
rods, and one of the most difficult to acquire. It is regarded here as one
of Hardy's better rods due to its American style light trouting MIDGE
action! The rod has a slower, more powerful, full working action, yet is
light and delicate with fine tippets and a DT3 or WF4 weight line. Fantastic
light trout and midging rod. Great fishing rod and the most collectible of
all the Hardy rods. This rod was made in 1925, S/N E1039. The rod is
in original condition, and is sound and fish-able as is. It is also complete
with the original wooden ferrule Plugs and Ferrule caps and Agate Stripper

13637. HARDY. 7'6". MARVEL. 3/2. #3/4. 2-3/4 oz. Medium/Slow. Cork Slide
Band. Translucent Honey. Varnished. This model, in continuous production for
more than 45 years, is one of Hardy's most delicate, most respected trout
rods and is considered by its many fans to be the finest rod Hardy ever made
for the American market. That is likely due to its softer American style
midge action. The rod has a slower, more powerful, fuller working action,
and is light and delicate, protecting fine tippets while using a DT3 or WF4
weight line. Do not confuse "slow" with "wimpy"! This rod has plenty of
backbone and will throw a very long line, if asked. Fine hand craftsmanship
abounds and the varnish finish is impeccable.
This one was made in 1936,
S/N E37673. The rod is in original condition, and is completely sound
and fish-able as is. (The discoloration at the bottom of the reel seat is
the remnant of well-aged Saran Wrap placed on the seat years ago to protect
it). It is also complete with the original wooden ferrule Plugs and
Aluminum Ferrule caps and Agate Stripper guide and tip-tops. Comes in the
original tagged cloth rod bag which is housed in a later added aluminum rod
case. In superb fishing condition and ready for your favorite dry fly pool.

fly rod was later replaced by the PHANTOM models in the 1970's which were
the last of the Hardy bamboo rods for a long hiatus. This rod is lightly
fished in the original cloth bag with hang tag and a later added black
finish aluminum tube, as nearly all Hardy cane rods from this period were
shipped to the States with no rod case to save shipping costs. Frugality at
its best. E. $675.00.

on this rod is original including the Agate stripper and English Perfect
Circle guides and Agate tip-tops and aluminum ferrule plugs. Excellent for
use as a "fun-time" salmon rod on a B.C. Steel-head or Canadian Salmon
River. Except for a handle chipped away by parking the fly at both ends, the
rod is in nice overall fishing condition showing only moderate use. One tip
is 3" short with no effect on the cast. The original varnish is still sound
and ready to fish. Original bag only, no rod case. Where can you find this
kind of quality at this kind of price? Fish or display? Your choice.

Medium/Fast Dry Fly. Black Tenite S/L. Black. Varnished. The famed Heddon

ferrule. Early Model from the late 1930's with "HEDDON" inscribe across 3

most desirable fishing model of the Heddon rods. This rod is in almost
entirely original excellent plus, condition with the female butt ferrule
having been re-oxidized, a fly-keeper added and one or two minor bumps in
the varnish touched up on the butt being the only non-original features of
the rod. It is a not an absolutely perfect cosmetic specimen, especially for
the fussy collector, but is likely one of the sweetest fishing rods you'll
ever enjoy using. Rods of this scarcity and ready-to-fish condition almost
never turn up anymore. Comes in the original labeled bag with the bag tag
there and perfect. The case is a modern aluminum replacement. Very desirable
rod model with the ultimate Heddon collector interest due to its size rarity
and a top-notch casting rod. E. $925.00.

these two piece 7-1/2' Heddon made rods almost never turn up. This late 30's
rod has been refinished at Orvis and is in Mint-Restored condition with no
use since. Size 0-3/4 ferrule provides a delicate medium/fast dry fly action

13597. JENKINS - C. W.
8'0". CLASSIC MODEL 8016-1. 2/2. #5/6. 3.8 oz. Medium. Brown t/ Yellow.
Varnished. Cherry N/S S/B. I've admired the Jenkins rods since the late
1960's when I was first introduced to Charlie's rods. I think partly because
of the way it performs and partly because of its simple beauty. This rod
meets every expectation on both counts. The Classic Model is built on the
Garrison Tapers for a 5/6 line and is no longer cataloged by Steve Jenkins.
The action is perfect for a DT5 or WF6 and the rod shows a lovely medium
flamed cane color set off by the Brown t/Yellow wraps, oxidized ferrules and
impeccable varnish work. The reel seat is natural Cherry, beautifully
mortised and radius-ed with a handsome set of bright N/S cap and ring
hardware. A classic lightweight cane rod by all standards. Comes in the
cloth bag and capped aluminum case. Barely used. N/M.

13538. JENNINGS - HOMER L. 7'0". "TROUTSPIN" BAMBOO SPIN ROD.
2/1. 4# TO
8#. 5.95 oz. Medium. Fixed Aluminum S/L. Green t/ Black. Varnished. Many
years ago, Homer Jennings lived in England and apprenticed under
Mr. Jo Bonham, of St Leonard Rods, and Mr. Ken Johnson, of Falcon Rods,
and then struck out on his own, building well-made serviceable rods
for the English clientele, before moving here to the States permanently.
This Spinning Rod is Serial numbered 0045 and was made in 1977 in Great
Britain. These rods carry a strong resemblance to the work of Hardy at the
time, no surprise as they were the leading builder in England and everyone
copied them. There is a quiet dignity about these rods and some elegant
touches abound. . from the softly flamed, medium-toned Caramel cane color,
to the Agate first guide and tip-top and the oxidized brass ferrules and
original owner's name lettered in under the sparkling varnish. The rod comes
in the original heavy cloth bag, shows barely any use , has no rod case (as
was the British Custom). You can see Homer's path to becoming a world class
rod craftsman in this early rod and if workmanship speaks for itself, then
this rod simply says it clearly. If absolute rarity and pride of ownership
are your thing, you want this rod. N/M. $475.00.

13623. JENNINGS - HOMER L. 8'0". TROUT. 3/2. #4. 4.25 oz. Medium.
Eucalyptus N/S S/B. Antique Gold t/Dark Brown. Varnished. Hand split cane,
heat pressed nodes, natural bamboo color, Garrison style 3-up node spacing,
Swiss style N/S ferrules and hardware, handsome Olive or Eucalyptus wood
reel seats, superb wrap and varnish work...as fine as all these are...they
are but complimentary to the very smooth progressive actions Jennings builds
into his rods. The gently swelled butt, the natural tones of his bamboo and
the use of transparent Antique Gold tipped dark Brown wraps are reminiscent
of the exquisite appearance of the Leonard rods turned out at Central Valley
under the guidance of Ruben Leonard and the Hawes brothers. Homer's rods
clearly demonstrate the characteristic superiority of those earlier rods and
follow their fine lead in quality of fit, finish and function. This rod is a
lovely, Medium action dry fly rod for a DT4 or Lee Wulff Triangle Taper 4
line. Natural color bamboo is highlighted by the soft Antique Gold wraps and
the magnificent mortised figured Teak reel seat with hand turned Nickel
Silver screw lock hardware. Bright metal parts, fine delicate tips and a
gently swelled butt are reminiscent of a fine 1950's Leonard rod. The
medium/fast action is very smooth and forgiving and perfect for fishing your
favorite stream with dries and smaller wets. Delightfully easy to cast rod.
Homer's finish work is impeccable. Fitted with a set of distinctive hand
turned bamboo ferrule plugs and a Brass capped aluminum rod case.
Outstanding value for the money BRAND NEW. $1650.00.

13564. LANCASTER - R. W. 8'0". BOW RIVER.
2/2. #5/6. 4.15 oz.
Medium/Fast Semi-Parabolic. Walnut S/B seat. Antique Gold
t/Black. Varnished. Bob Lancaster has been hand planing his meticulously
built rods for more than 30 years, testing and refining his rod tapers to
enhance the semi- parabolic type of action popularized by Paul Young. He has
taken that full feeling action to a higher casting plane all the while
retaining a delicate feel. Lancaster rods offer an always charming
Young-like appearance and a truly magnificent casting feel for a very
reasonable price. That makes his fine product a clear winner in our book.
This rod has a certain similarity to the fabled Para 15, in length and
appearance. It seems to feel equally as powerful and handles a DT5 line with
complete authority. For more distance, you might be inclined to throw a WF6
line instead. The Half Wells Grip is complimented by the beautiful Dark
Walnut filled reel seat. This further enhances the in-hand feel and provides
a well balanced and responsive rod. You will love this rod with bigger flies
and easily fish with smaller dry flies and finer tippets on those perfect
dry fly days. Flamed cane. Oxidized Nickel Silver Super-Z style ferrules.
With labeled cloth bag, rod pads and aluminum case. BRAND NEW. $850.00.

13601. TARANSKY - NICHOLAS A. 8'0". MONARO.
3/2. #3. 3-3/4 oz.
Medium/Fast. Brown Mallee Burl. Goldenrod. Varnished. When Nick Taransky
first contacted me about his rods, I was impressed enough by his top quality
work to want to present him with the ultimate challenge. "Can you build me a
FAST action three-weight?" 'No problem.' In an 8 foot three-piece rod?"
'Sure!' came the reply". "Ha!" I thought, "I've NEVER seen a truly fast,
light dry fly action 3 weight in a 3-piece eight footer from anybody! Plenty
of medium and slow action rods around, but never a classic dry fly type
action! Especially in my favorite configuration, three-piece!"
Well!
That's all history, now. He just went and nailed it! This fantastic rod
model was all I'd hoped for and in the ensuing years has become a very
popular model here in the States. It is fast and responsive, throws a DT3
line with a 12" loop, exactly where you aimed it! Feels as good as 20 feet
as is does at 60.AND weighs LESS than 4 ounces. A TOTAL WINNER! The rivers

spooky as hell, and the ultimate challenge! It is pretty near impossible to
"sneak up on 'em", so you'd better be able to cast 40 to 60 feet with ease
and accuracy, even with a 3 weight line!. The Monaro Series is Nick's Best
rod. This rod is built from a single culm of bamboo with MIRROR tips. Fitted

13632. T&T. 7'0". MIDGE. 2/2. #4. 2-7/8 oz. Medium/Fast Dry Fly. Walnut
N/S S/B. Red. Varnished. S/N 5009. Lightweight, powerful, yet delicate
action for a DT4 line. This recent T&T (circa late 90's) is a great rod for
dry and wets from sizes 12 to 24. Lovely, dark flamed and mottled cane
color. Of course, the node patterns in both tips are identical like all
older Individualist Series T&T rods. The Mottled Falme pattern was
introduced by Tom Moran in the early 1990's at T&T. Cigar grip with a
beautifully Burled Walnut down locking oxidized Nickle Silver slide band
seat. The Midge is one of T&T's most respected rod models and the current
wait for a new one is really long. This magnificently actioned rod has lots
of sparkle with a very easy to cast action. In the original bag and T&T
brass capped case. It remains in nearly new condition and shows no fishing
use. M. $2850.00.

13628. T&T. 7'0". SPECIAL TROUTER. 2/2. #4. 3.0 oz. Medium to
Medium/Fast. Cork S/B. Translucent Tan. Impregnated. SN.3481. One of the
scarcest of the T&T model rods. This intro to bamboo model was only made for
about three years in the very late 70's. These rods were made using medium
colored bamboo blanks and simple wraps and aluminum hardware to keep the
cost down. They were a bargain then and still are considering the quality
level for the dollars spent. Not fancy, just good. This rod is completely
original, including the factory done thumb indent in the grip and the
factory done, minor hook dig repair about midway on the second tip: this
done a long time ago and with-standing the test of time just fine. In the
original cloth bag and aluminum Cal-Air case. A delight to cast with a #4
line and an interesting and quite collectible little T&T thanks to its short
history. E. $925.00.

Delicate power is all over this fabulous rod for a DT5 or TT5 line. This is
a great rod for dries and wets from sizes 10 to 20. Lovely, even toned, oven
tempered cane color. Cigar grip with a Mortised Walnut, Down locking, slide
band seat. This rod action is suited to all around trout fishing including
wets, small streamers and bead or cone heads. This rod has loads of sparkle
with a very easy to cast action and really smokes for dry fly work. One tip
is a later done (1980's) matching factory replacement and the reel seat
hardware shows normal bluing wear and the original owner's name is lettered
on the rod. Despite the sound of all that this rod has been well cared for
over the years and in the original bag and brass capped rod case.
