HANDYMAN,  ANTIQUE & COLLECTOR RODS

If you want "ready to go", contemporary fishing rods, then back-cast to the Classic Rod section. All rods listed here may require some repair to be restored to fishing condition OR are those that may be very old, or may have significant historic value, or may have unusual features or rarity that make them of strong interest to the collector. They may be in perfect condition or they may require considerable repair to make them whole again. Antique and Collector rods generally are special rods, that perhaps should not be repaired so as to preserve their scarce originality. All have been checked for soundness and are worth restoring. All are accurately described as to condition. Handyman Rods that require repair will be so stated. No bag or case unless specified. All these rods are sold "AS IS" with no return privilege.

31311. HEDDON. 9'0". MODEL 14 THOROBRED. 3/1. #6/7. 5 oz. Medium/Fast. Brown Tenite rev N/S S/L. Red T/ Black. Varnished. Sweet action, early 9 footer for a #6/7 line. Superb, #2-1/2 ferrule, trout rod. Powerful, yet easy to cast. The varnish is rough, but the rod could be fished as is. The mid section and the tip are full length and the butt is 2" short. but the rod still casts well. Oxidized ferrules and reel seat hardware with the original Tenite seat mounted in the unusual UPLOCKING position. Even the snakes and tops are the original style bronze units as is the Red Agate stripper. The name Heddon is spiral written on the shaft placing this rod back into 1930's. In a replacement cloth bag, no case. F. $95.00.

31313. GRANGER – GOODWIN. 9'0". CHAMPION MODEL.  3/2. #6/7.  5 oz.  Med/Fast. Full N/S S/B. Red t/Black. Varnished. GOODWIN GRANGER. This rod is in poor to fair original condition with only a few issues. All sections are full length, but the second tip is splintered about midway. The good news is that only 50% of the boo is damaged, so the tip can be repaired effectively. The other option is to have Wes Cooper do one of his magic tip splices to restore the rod. The rod also needs a complete redo and some tip straightening to bring back, but will restore nicely in the proper hands. The reel seat has gone missing its slide band and has a number of dents in but can be restored and the missing slide band replaced, if desired. Comes in original cloth bag with no rod case. Great buy on a great rod. P – F. Price: $225.00
