HANDYMAN, ANTIQUE & COLLECTOR RODS
If you want "ready to go", contemporary fishing rods, then back-cast to
the Classic Rod section. All rods listed here may require some repair to be
restored to fishing condition OR are those that may be very old, or may have
significant historic value, or may have unusual features or rarity that make
them of strong interest to the collector. They may be in perfect condition
or they may require considerable repair to make them whole again. Antique

repaired so as to preserve their scarce originality. All have been
checked for soundness and are worth restoring. All are accurately described
as to condition. Handyman Rods that require repair will be so stated.

3/2. #7/8. 5-1/4 oz. Medium/Fast. Full N/S S/B. Black. Varnished.

include an Agate stripper. The rod is straight and the ferrules are
excellent. The varnish looks great, but is beginning to soften and will need
stripped and recoated to restore. All sections are full length and the rod
casts a DT& or WF8 with total control and authority. This will make one fine
bass or steelhead rod. after the work in the hands of someone with a bit of

31274. maltby - charles s. 8'6". Unmarked
Fly Rod.
3/1.
#5. 5 oz. Medium. Full N/S S/B. Deep Brown. Varnished. This is a very
well made rod from an unknown ( to me) maker. What is most impressive about
this rod is its design which features a 29" butt, a 32" mid and a fine 42"
tip. There is no question it was made that way and the action is really
superb and light for a DT5 line. The rod is not signed, but is clearly from
the same builder as the signed Matlby rod for sale here. The hardware and
fitting are highest grade and include an Agate stripper. The rod is straight
and the ferrules are excellent. The varnish looks great, but is beginning to
soften and will need stripped and recoated to restore. This will make one
fine trout rod. after the varnish work. In a cloth bag and unique aluminum
case. G. 125.00.
